Workshop materials will be distributed to participants at least two weeks prior to the workshop to ensure that participants arrive with a basic understanding of the curriculum.

1130 – 1230	Discussion of venipuncture equipment Proper use of requisitions Alternatives to the latex tourniquet

1300 – 1400	Universal Precautions Blood-borne pathogens Sharps injury risk reduction
1400 – 1500	Approaching the client Proper identification of the client Proper positioning of the client Demonstration of venipuncture technique on artificial arm
1500 – 1630	Practical session: venipuncture on the artificial arm
